The Gluteal Floor: Glute Training Pelvic Floor Support

£45.00

The fascial and “biomechnical” connection between the gluteus maximus and pelvic floor has become more apparent in recent years, redefining our perception of the pelvic floor and how to improve pelvic floor issues such as urinary incontinence.

Pelvic floor dysfunction can be helped through traditional “isolated pelvic floor exercises” however, a holistic and integrated approach to pelvic floor training can be as or more beneficial for improving pelvic floor function long term.

The anterior and posterior regions of the pelvic floor (urogenital triangle and anal triangle) which have a specialised function in supporting the bladder, cervix and rectum also share direct fascial connections to the gluteus maximus.

This “dynamic-tensilel” relationship between the floor and glute muscles opens up a new approach to pelvic floor training for Pilates teachers wanting to help their clients improve pelvic floor health and pelvic stability.

In this online class you will learn:

  • How to clearly visualise the different connections from the glutes to the pelvic floor.

  • New research on the fascia of the pelvic floor, expanding your understanding of the pelvic floor.

  • An evidence based approach to optimally training the gluteal muscles, improving pelvic and lower back support.

  • “Release” exercises for the different areas of the pelvis where the pelvic floor and glutes connect.

  • How the gluteal and pelvic floor muscles work synergistically in gait to stabilise the sacroiliac joint.

  • Movement sequences to integrate and strengthen the pelvic floor and glute connection.

  • Seamlessly help your client’s on their pelvic health journey with your new depth of knowledge.
